All of us know how important school lunch is to our
children. We understand that children
don’t always like what’s on the menu.
Chadron Public Schools is excited to bring to you a 2nd lunch
option for your children that are in the elementary schools. Monday thru Thursday we have added a sandwich
option. The sandwich can replace the
main entrée only. Your child will
continue to get the hot vegetable, salad bar and milk. The cost will remain the same for either
option.
We are trying to encourage students to try new foods that
they may not be exposed to at home, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc. In doing this, we understand there are days
when the students may not like the main option being served. The sandwich option is being offered for just
that reason. We lead busy lives and
hopefully this will take some of the burden off of parents having to make a sack
lunch on those days.
Our parent advisory board on school lunches supported this
idea and we hope you will too. We would
like to continue to get feedback from parents.
