Early Out Friday

This Friday (February 29th) is a 1:15 early out day.  Please remember to pick your students up on time. Also, looking agaid to next week we the end of the quarter on March 6 (Wednesday) which is a full day.  No School on Thursday and Friday due to Spring Break.

Exxon Mobil Corporation awards $500

 Exxon Mobil along with the Moyle Petroleum Company and the Chadron Common Cents Convenience Store provided the opportunity for our school to apply for the grant made possible through funding from the Exxon Mobil Corporation.  Chadron Intermediate School will be using the grant money to support our Math and Science curriculum.

Improving Vocabulary

Teachers at CIS work hard to improve vocabulary in all content areas.  Mrs. Hirning is shown here using vocabulary flashcards to teach new words to the students.  Today they made a game out of it similar to a Spelling Bee.  The kids had a lot of fun and remained engaged even after they were put out.

Words are first given with definitions and then used in a sentence.

Reviewing vocabulary works in a game makes learning fun!

CIS Parent Reminder: 

Today (Wednesday) is a regular 3:05 out.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is an early 1:30 out.

No School on Friday(K-4).

Parent Teacher Conferences

CIS will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences this week on Tuesday and Thursday (February 5 & 7).  We release students at 1:30 both days to prepare for the conferences.  Conferences are scheduled from 3:00-7:00 p.m.  There will not be CIA on these nights.  Please plan to attend at the agreed upon time.  Thank you for attending and letting us be part of your son or daughter's education.
