Renowned French oceanographer, Jean-Michel Cousteau, to speak on campus

CHADRON – Chadron State College hosts the second Galaxy Series speaker of the semester Oct. 22 Jean-Michel Cousteau, renowned French oceanographer explorer, environmentalist, educator, and film producer will speak in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium at 7 p.m.
Following in the footsteps of his famous father, Cousteau has spent his life exploring the world’s oceans aboard the research vessels “Calypso” and “Alcyone” and communicating, to people of all nations, his love and concern for the world’s oceans.
He is president of Ocean Futures Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to exploration, research, and the communication of issues affecting the world’s oceans.
Cousteau is known as a person who cares as deeply for humanity as he does for the sea. Through his stewardship of the sea, he recognizes the interdependence of all lives with the world’s oceans.
