This week is Fire Prevention Week and CIS students enjoyed visiting with our Chadron Volunteer Fire Department members early Monday morning. Students got a quick tour of the Rescue Squad. We also heard about a Fire Plan and what that should look like at our homes. Students should ask their parents where to go if their house is on fire. They talked about alternative ways to get out of a house if it is on fire. They even talked about Replacing Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years along with replacing batteries every year. Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in reported home fires in half. Be sure to talk to your children about what to do in case of a fire in your home.
