Railroad Math!

March Math Madness

On the final day of March, near to the final hour of our school day, Quincy West came to share why a
railroad engineer needs to know math.  Our speaker spoke of tons, torque, elevation and degrees of slope.
We learned that diesel fuel runs cleaner and farther than highway transport.  "BNSF moves enough grain to
supply 90 million people with a year's supply of bread.  BNSF hauls enough coal to power one of every 10
homes in the nation."  Thank you Mr. West!
Wylee was so proud to share his daddy with our math class!
